Dylan Semu, DC

Dr. Dylan Semu's Chiropractic philosophy is that the key to life is balance; to move right, think right, eat right, and sleep right. Dr. Semu is one of very few Chiropractors of Samoan descent (when he graduated in 2003 the World Chiropractic Association had only two Samoans on their member list). As the 4th generation of healers in his family, he was indoctrinated in holistic healing by his mother who was taught the Samoan traditional art of massage, fo'fo' (pronounced "four-four") by Dr. Semu's great grandfather.

In each generation of 'Dr. D's' family, the one that had the "hands and the feel" was selected and taught the fo'fo'. Dr. D  had the "hands, feel  and desire", and he was chosen to study fo'fo'. The fo'fo' philosophy of manual medicine uses the hands to unlock the body's natural mechanisms to allow it to heal itself. This was the root of his destiny to become a Chiropractor.

Dr. D received his Bachelor of Science in Physiology from the University of Auckland, New Zealand, and his Doctor of Chiropractic degree at Macquarie University in Sydney, Australia, with physical therapy and personal training certifications. With this background, Dr. D developed a multidisciplinary approach to his practice. He was part of  a large medical practice and emergency care facility in New Zealand.

Dr. D moved to Bellingham from New Zealand four years ago and has been married to his beautiful wife Serina for 18 years and has five active, talented children. When not in practice, he is an avid sports fan and enjoys almost all sports with a background in track, basketball and rugby. When not participating in sports or training at the gym, you will find him spending time with friends and family. "I love helping people get the most out of life by helping the body, mind and spirit to heal."
